This Bachelor’s thesis explores issues related to ecological graphic design. The aim of this thesis was to find graphic identify graphic design methods that support ecological and sustainable development and then to apply them to the in a functional case study. The thesis examines sustainable development and ecology as well as visual identity design. As part of the thesis project, a case study was carried out, commissioned by a young Helsinki-based natural cosmetics company company called Luvially. The aim was to design a coherent visual identity based on the gained theoretical knowledge about eco-graphic design. The outcome of the case study was compiled into a visual guide for the company. The theoretical part of the thesis examines sustainable development as a concept and introduces graphic design methods from the ecological point of view. The effects and methods of ecological printing are explained and studied. In the theory part the reader also learns about the client company and about its core values, vision and mission as well as the meaning of visual identity and brand, and their relationship. Finally, the case study goes through the process of designing the visual identity and its key elements for Luvially. The actual design process runs alongside the theoretical part. The sources used are literature, web texts and theses in the field of graphic design and communications.. ← Tämä kappale oli vaikea ymmärtää. Based on the project it can be concluded that the The conclusion of the thesis was that the most ecological graphic design work is unprinted work. It was also found in the thesis that The study also shows/showed that the visual identity of a company must be built on the foundation of core values in order to authentically communicate the company’s message and personality. The commissioned visual identity was successfully designed based on the client’s wishes as well as the theoretical knowledge that was gained. Increasing one's understanding of eco-graphic design was instrumental in helping to identify future employment opportunities for the author. | ||
