OUTLINE FOR RADIO PROJECT:
Monday: | - Lecture: 9 orientaatio, esittäytymiset
- 10.00. Problems with the citizen/community access to the traditional media and journalism. By Pirita.
- Practical: 13-14.30 Radio orientation. Journalistic workflow in the radio. Radio genres. Forming workshop groups (4 students each), brainstorming topics and groups of people who are silenced in the media. Checking the equipment, introduction to the field recording techniques and basic audio editing. Translation techniques. Technical rehearsals.
- 14.30-15 Coffee Break
- 15-17 Brainstorming ideas and topics. Ideat valmiina klo.Sami vetää iltapäivän, ideointityökaluja ym. Huomioitava opettajien läsnäolo, näkökulmien tuojiksi.

Tuesday: | - Lecture: 9. Participatory media. Citizen media. SAMI: Caset: M2HZ, Dina, Reaktori (Pepe ja Ida). Ideals and practises of civic journalism. Harjoitus: sisältöanalyysi, ketkä esillä?
- Practical: 12. Workshop groups will decide their "target" community/social group (Monday?), their community/citizen-based methods of working and their topic, and start planning their project in details
- Tue: 13 Radioanalyysi: (jos olis kamat) radio formats and the suitability of community/citizen based methods for different radio formats. Pre-production, research (topics in the media, library visits, interviews, discussion, internet), writing, production planning. Sami

- Practical: Students will do practical arrangements for their journalistic project (contacting communities, setting up meetings, interviews, discussions)
Network meetings. - Wed: 13.30 - 18 Research and field recordings. Writing.

Thursday: | - 9 - 18 Recordings. Editing, independent work, teachers will have their network meeting. Practical: Students will work independently on their civic/community journalism projects in the field, starting editing in the afternoon/evening
Network meeting: Teachers will have a full-day Jocid network meeting - Students will finish editing their journalistic productions before lunch. - After lunch: Listening to the productions, discussing them, evaluating the whole course.

Friday | - Final editing + deadline 1200 hrs. presentations + feedback 25 min/group + general discussion 1 hour.
- Evening: Final dinner for the participants.

3-4 groups of 4 people, 2 from IUCO, 2 from PoN, DIAK and/or Metropolia.
Final production: radio story, dur. 4-8 minutes, interview, vox pop, panel discussion, written and edited.
Topic: Groups will decide the topic and the target group on Monday, latest Tuesday
