HSPACE is a three-year project funded by the City of Helsinki Innovation Fund, launched in 2010. The main goal of HSPACE is to develop and study new kinds of learning environments, recreational places, products and applications for the educational institutions of the future. The intention is to practically test educational spaces which enable a wide range of functions at the same time. The project focuses on people's real needs and is based on DFA (Design For All) principles. The aim is to introduce new solutions and applications agilely and with low costs. HSPACE is part of the R&D activity of Metropolia's Faculty of Culture and Creative Industries. The solutions and research are collaboratively contrived by the Media and the Design Degree Programmes. The main developmental places are Metropolia's own facilities and the elementary school of Vuosaari. |
