Evaluated Website: New York Times reader
Users: New York Times is famous newspaper, which has reader all around the world. So the users of this website would be those people who wants to be updated with world news MB: and Have ordered the material verison of >New Yor times or only the digital version of it..
Social and physical environment: The website is in English. So the users need to have good knowledge of English language. User needs to have computers and Internet connection. All people don't have computer. If they have, Internet is not everywhere. MB: and the reader for the New Yor times is person specific you must have ordered the New York Times. And where the use it at home, in traain, at work....and what characteristics these places have?
User tool Ecology: Tools for the website is the computer with the internet connection but once the news is downloaded, internet is not needed. MB: with waht other tools the users are reading the Times? dot hey check other soruces from Net while reading it, do they use phone? are they reding it in the morining coffeee table, or as offline in train going to work and then they might use note book......
Users characteristics: The users of the New York Times have a feeling towards the world. To read latest world news at same place, New York Times is the one. The users should be the regular reader of New York Times magazine. Also new readers can access the New York Times reader site. MB: NO; what are the users characteristics, what kind of users the users are!
Needs: The need to visit New York Times site is to get information about the world current happenings. So many exams, interviews need the information of current world news. So students need this site for the knowledge of world news. MB: so you ahve students as one segment of users? You never specified anywhere the user segments and to what you will focus on
Habits: normal people don't go to internet and watch news instead of social network. Those users who go through news site have a habit of reading news offline and online. They visit so many news sites and for the better world news with easy download facility, they visit New York Times reader.MB: needs to be more specific with the habits, how the read, with what, when etc
Context (social and physical): The social point of using the website is to know about the world news which helps to develop the society comparing other societies. The influence of the western society develops eastern society. The papers publish every day and it costs 3.45 dollars per week. To get the newspaper, one doesn't need to go to the shop or check the post. Just opening the website and subscribe to it, makes the wish come true. User can get audio, video and everything which normal papers cant fulfil. MB: this about the physical and social context e.g., readin offline in train the train is the physical context and it has its own charatcteristics, the social context in train are the fellow passangers and maybe coworkers using the smae train or taking kinds to school or phinign business phones while being in the train and reading...how these hings affect the use.
