The recent years have seen design has move from from the hands of industrial and graphic designers into something bigger, more open, democratic strategic and at the same time far more complex and intangible. The boundaries between physical and digital products and services are blurring, and design holds the keys to making sense of it all. Puhuja

Sami NiemeläNordkapp

Sami is a designer blatantly excited about the new; things, experiences and interactions digital technology connects and enables all around us. He has worked on digital products and services since 1997, and while at it assisted an ethnographic study in India, facilitated participatory design in a daycare, won a Finnish Grammy, had his name on 10-ish design patents and designed for pretty much any format and size there are, both digital and physical.

Currently Sami is the creative director and one of the founding partners at the Helsinki based award winning design firm Nordkapp, a visiting lecturer at Aalto University, and a frequent speaker at design related events all over Europe.

In his spare time he likes to obsess about coffee, spend time with his family and help connecting the dots for the local interaction design community as the founder of IxDA Finland.
