Solar panel will be installed onto the roof of Erillistalo building next to student's parking lot. There are few things needed to be planned:
- The angle of tilt. Ideal angle of tilt is about 30 degrees during summer time and between 75 to 90 degrees during winter time. Less than 15 degrees has to be avoided because of dust and dirt. Do we have possibility to adjust the angle of tilt?
Manual adjustment is not good idea because no one would adjust it and it's not good if someone should go onto the roof at least twice a year because there is always risk to fall down. It would be better to set it permanently to average angle which is 45 degrees. Anyways it would be nice to get maximum production all over the year and if the adjustment was possible it would be possible to examine how the angle of tilt really affects to the production of electricity. So is it possible to adjust it by using pneumatic, hydraulic or electrical cylinder? Is there any other possibilities?
- The direction of solar panel. Ideally solar panel is directed towards sun. If we couldn't turn the solar panel the best direction would be towards South. Do we have possibility to control direction of panel towards sun with some kind of motor system? How do we know that which direction the sun is to and how we can follow the movement of sun? ABB has PID control for that?
