What is a multidisciplinary Innovation Project ?The aim of the innovation project is to create value from culture and wellbeing in our surrounding society in new ways and manners. The student knows how to apply project- and networking skills. He/ she can apply his/ her professional skills and can bring those skills to multidiciplinary work. He can create negotiation culture and he can use problem solving, co-operation and communication skills in a development project and decision making. After th project you can develop new practical, creative and innovative solutions and services that meet the need of the surrounding society. Innovation project aims at creating new value in the work life. Every undergraduate takes part in a 10 credit point innovation project
Background
Learning outcomes of the course unit After the course the student can: - Adapt project- and social networking basics and skills in local,,and national collaboration projects - Work in multidisciplinary teams and evaluate his/her skills and abilities - Know the communication and team work challenges and use the basic conflict presentation and solving methods Course contents Innovation? Multidiciplinary work Project management Find, use and developed methods for innovating, working in a team and especially generate new solutions to the challenges that the projects are about - Use and integrate lean development methods to different fields (e.g., mobile phone application development, game development etc.) taking into account the user centered design approaches. Assessment criteria Satisfactory 1-2 The student knows principles of project and network-based work. The student recognizes his/her own project- and network-based work competences. The student uses co-operation and communication skills in cooperative development process´and decision making. The student can develop together with other actors solutions and modes of operation to meet the multi-faceted needs of the residents of the Helsinki metropolitan area. Good 3 The student uses principles of project and network-based work in regional, national or international development oriented work. The student can use co-operation and communication skills in cooperative development process and decision making. The student generates cooperative negotiation culture with other actors in the field. Excellent 4-5 The student's ability to use principles of project and network-based work in regional, national or international development oriented work is on a high level. The student is able to analyze and develop his/her co-operation and communication skills in cooperative development process and decision making. The student understands cooperative negotiation culture and generates it with other actors in the field. The student is able to analyze and develop his/her professional competence and puts it in service of multi-professional work. The student develops together with other actors practical, creative and innovative solution, modes of operation or services to meet the multi-faceted needs of the residents of the Helsinki metropolitan area.
